Personal Development
Personal Development is Fundamental to Have Happiness and to Obtain Success
Personal development is fundamental to have happiness and to obtain success. Of course, being happy and being successful is different for every individual. Each person must ask and answer her or his own questions,
Where are you now? Where do you want to be?
Some people are convinced that they will obtain happiness and be successful once they own a certain car or have a certain financial status. The car or financial status may be symbols of success for some – thus the name status symbol. But have you ever really wanted something and felt more euphoric the closer that something came only to feel let down once you actually obtained that something? It’s like witnessing Jack the Pomeranian run wildly in circles and jump three feet in the air for a rawhide only to watch him immediately drop it and beg for the next treat.
You may have a vague idea about certain “things” you want to do, or be, or to accomplish – but you must really clarify. You must be able to imagine the yourself as the person you will need to become – the person that must be able to perform certain roles and “handle” the situations and circumstances that will come witht the “things” that you want to have or have happen. That usually require personal development.
It takes time to evolve into the person we want to be, It takes a concerted, consistent effort to move through the steps toward our goals. Personal development does not happen overnight. There is no magic pill or surgery that will create that person that you aspire to become. Not to say that you are not already a fantastic person, but you will find that success and happiness requires us to keep growing, learning, creating.
Personal development isn’t always easy. We may or may not have our Personal Development Plan in place. We may need help becoming more effective or efficient in a number areas, such as Goal Setting, Time Management, or Motivation Techniques. We may need or desire Self-Esteem Help or Self-Improvement Tips. Sometimes we need that objective voice – that supportive yet realistic partner – that person that holds us accountable to what we say we will do – the collaborator that helps us with critical thinking – that person that will play devil’s advocate for us.
